Barings Law named as a market leader in Solomonic’s Year In Review Report

We are proud to announce that Barings Law’s investment in innovative technology has been recognised in Solomonic’s Year in Review 2023 report.

We are the highest new entrants – and third overall – by volume of claims in this year’s report into High Court commercial litigation data.

The research offers a comprehensive analysis of claims issued in the civil courts. As the UK’s leading litigation data and analytics platform, Solomonic meticulously tracks each case from inception to judgement, providing legal professionals and the broader industry with invaluable insights.

In the report, Barings Law has exceeded expectations with two notable positions in a table dominated by international law practices.

Firstly, we stand third in the 30-strong list of firms, based on the volume of claims issued. This is a terrific achievement as we sit behind 2022’s top two, who maintained their places this year, global firms Clyde & Co and DAC Beachcroft.

The list also names Barings Law as the highest-placed of the nine new entrants, propelled by an eye-catching surge in pandemic-related business interruption claims on behalf of small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs). We recorded a staggering 2,300% increase from the previous year, displaying our growth and effectiveness in this practice area.

We feel that this recognition – from highly-respected litigation data specialists – highlights our commitment in advocating for claimants, as our entire practice at Barings Law is centred around supporting the rights of those who seek representation from us.

Managing director Craig Cooper said: “This recognition serves as a testament to the efforts and dedication of the entire team at Barings Law. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, we have been tirelessly supporting SMEs in their pursuit to recover financial losses resulting from insurer disputes over policy wordings.

“Our review of business interruption policy wordings has helped our efforts to secure successful claim settlements out of court and has helped us make significant steps forward in court to help create a better understanding of what wordings should mean for both insurers and business owners, paving the way for fairer decisions for SMEs.
“As we look to the future, Barings Law remains committed to representing SMEs, and we will continue to use our expertise, experience, and determination to ensure that businesses receive the justice that they deserve in these challenging times.”
