Our areas of practice include – but are not limited to – cases of financial mis-selling, group litigation, bank fraud and commercial litigation (principally claims for business interruption).
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced paralegal, based at our offices in Manchester.
The successful candidate will handle claims across the range of our areas of practice. Ideally, you will have an appetite for, and want to learn more about, financial mis-selling claims, whilst working closely with supervisors and partners, as well as colleagues within the firm, on the cases.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting pre-claim investigations, legal research and initial case assessments;
- Drafting and editing client correspondence;
- Dealing with queries from clients, defendants’ legal representative(s) and other third parties in person, electronically or via telephone;
- Drafting documents, including witness statements, draft orders, applications and instructions to Counsel;
- Proof-reading legal documents to ensure accuracy and legal compliance;
- Performing administrative duties on assigned claims (organising calendars, court hearings and case files as well as managing logistics and maintaining records on our CRM);
- Engaging in alternative dispute resolutions, mediations and settlement negotiations;
- Attending trials and other hearings with Counsel;
- Supporting solicitors and other team leaders by carrying out a range of legal tasks;
- Undertaking administrative tasks to ensure effective collaboration across the business.
The successful candidate will have:
- A good law degree;
- Proven, demonstrable experience as a paralegal;
- • The ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet critical deadlines;
- Excellent organisational and communication skills and a flexible approach to the working environment;
- The motivation to work alone and collaborate as part of a team;
- The ability to perform at a high level and to achieve targets;
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a friendly, outgoing manner;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and applications such as Word and Excel;
- A strong work ethic with a commitment to providing excellent service to our clients;
- The ability to maintain very high standards and attention to detail when working with large volumes of work.
Desirable but not essential:
- One year’s relevant experience in a paralegal or claims management role;
- Experience in file handling and managing legal caseloads;
- Experience in, and knowledge of, instances of financial mis-selling

- Basic salary of up to £24,200 increasing to £26,000 per annum upon successful completion of six-month probation period;
