Why we take out an insurance policy
At Barings Law we work on a No-Win No-Fee basis and we need to take out an insurance policy to mitigate the risk involved in carrying out legal action on your behalf.
After The Event (ATE) insurance is taken out in case your claim is unsuccessful and we are required to pay disbursements such as the opponent’s costs, expert reports and barrister and court fees.
An ATE insurance policy protects you from any liability for meeting the costs and expenses involved in litigation, meaning there is absolutely no financial risk to you when making a compensation claim.
